In the meaningful night, which the President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan also attended, and where knowledge and wisdom, academic experience and tables of friendship met, the emphasis on 'unity of hearts' came to the forefront.** ## İçerik ![](https://cdn.uha.com.tr/content/images/1-260313102657.png) Many academicians and their families, including the President of Üsküdar University, Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, and members of the Istanbul Academic Representation Committee, attended the program held at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus. ![](https://cdn.uha.com.tr/content/images/2-260313102754.png) ![](https://cdn.uha.com.tr/content/images/dua-260313103303.png) ## **The spiritual atmosphere began with the recitation of the Holy Quran** In the first part of the program, a recitation of the Holy Quran was performed by İbrahim Yağız. After the verses were recited, a collective hatim prayer was made, sharing the spiritual peace of the month of Ramadan. ![](https://cdn.uha.com.tr/content/images/ezan-260313102944.png) With the call to prayer (adhan), the fasts were broken. ![](https://cdn.uha.com.tr/content/images/nt-260313103022.png) ## **Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: “Ramadan is a means to remind us of our true purpose for coming”** After the iftar, the welcoming speeches of the program, hosted by the President of Üsküdar University, Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, commenced. Tarhan said; “I thank each and every one of you for participating in our prayers and being a part of this good deed on this blessed day of Ramadan. Today, health programs are the most watched on television. We show tremendous care for our physical health, saying 'Don't eat this, it will harm you.' So, why don't we show the same care for our eternal life? Mankind lives as if they will only stay in this world. If we hear that poison has been mixed into a meal, we wash that plate many times and throw the food away; however, the mixing of unlawful gain (haram) into our sustenance is an equally dangerous poison for our spiritual world.” he stated. ![](https://cdn.uha.com.tr/content/images/6-260313103206.png) Tarhan, who also drew attention to the concepts of worldliness and ego in his speech, continued his words as follows: “In a period where worldliness and ego have risen so much, Ramadan is a means to remind us of our true purpose for coming. We are here not just to live, but to bear witness. As Rumi (Hz. Mevlana) said, we are passing through this world. As Bediüzzaman Hazretleri expressed, this place is a guesthouse. With this consciousness, we should live by thinking about our true destination, without clinging to the temporary. May Allah not deprive our hearts of this feeling. I wish you a blessed Ramadan and pray for your fasts to be accepted.” ![](https://cdn.uha.com.tr/content/images/mustafa-yazgan-260313103105.png) ## **Prof. Mustafa Yazgan: “I wish this table of friendship brings good to all of us”** Prof. Mustafa Yazgan, speaking on behalf of the Istanbul Academic Representation Committee, gave a message of unity and solidarity in his welcoming speech. Yazgan said; “We extend our sincere thanks to our host, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, who brought us together at our iftar dinner tonight and provided us with this beautiful venue, for his kindness and support. Beyond academic sharing, I wish this table of friendship brings good to all of us.” he said. ![](https://cdn.uha.com.tr/content/images/imza-260313103420.png) ## **Prof. Tarhan signed his books for his readers** At the end of the program, the President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan signed his books, which were presented as gifts during the night, for the participants. Tarhan personally engaged with the academicians and their families and took photos.
