Tarhan congratulated the students and their advisor faculty for their achievements and also presented his book ‘Being a Conscious Young Person’ to the participants. ** ## İçerik ![](https://cdn.uskudar.edu.tr/uploads/images/2022/11/11/800/img-1527_1.JPG) The meeting, held in the Üsküdar University Senate hall, was attended by Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Radio, Television and Cinema Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esennur Sirer, Dr. Lecturer Hale Yaylalı, Dr. Lecturer Nihal Toros, Faculty of Health Sciences Audiology Department Head Dr. Lecturer Didem Şahin Ceylan, as well as Üsküdar University Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler, Corporate Communications Department Head Tahsin Aksu, and Event Manager Rasim Dağhan Işık. ![](https://cdn.uskudar.edu.tr/uploads/images/2022/11/11/800/img-1487_1.JPG) ## **Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “Positive emotions relax the immune system”** Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that the biggest obstacle is psychological. Prof. Dr. Tarhan said; “The studies have created a lot of empathy in students. Taking the stories of families and announcing them, doing it within the project, also gives them a sense of achievement. It also has a very positive effect on children. This ‘I won, I succeeded’ feeling already relaxes and strengthens the immune system with positive emotions. Achieving a positive goal also reduces their stress. When people with certain disabilities are approached with exaggerated reactions, we lose them. You cannot communicate with them. That's why we say, don't interfere with their disability, their privacy, their sacredness. That's their private matter; if everyone asks about their disability every time, they've heard it thousands of times. The biggest obstacle is psychological. What hinders them the most is psychological. Each individual's life story is different for them to be included in social life. All of them are success stories.” ## ![](https://cdn.uskudar.edu.tr/uploads/images/2022/11/11/800/img-1464_1.JPG) ## **“All sciences are part of a whole”** Emphasizing the importance of the holistic science approach, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan said; “Engineering, neuroscience, behavioral sciences, communication are all common pillars to reach a common goal. In the past, sciences were considered unique, but now there is a wholeness of sciences, meaning each science is not a separate republic within itself; there is a general unity. All are part of a whole. The holistic science approach has existed for approximately 20 years.” ## ![](https://cdn.uskudar.edu.tr/uploads/images/2022/11/11/800/img-1442_1.JPG) ## **Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör:** **“We are number one among foundation universities”** Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör made evaluations regarding the great importance of faculty support and student motivation. Prof. Dr. Güngör said; “Currently, we are always ranked first in awards among foundation universities. Our participants in this year's 10th Communication Days event are world-renowned figures. Four very valuable scientists, two from the USA and two from Europe, will be coming. So, it's good on that front too. The support of our faculty and the motivation of our students are very, very important. Currently, we are truly number one among foundation universities in these kinds of initiatives. Our first-year students in Radio, Television and Cinema were magnificent this year. There is a great motivation there.” ## **Dr. Lecturer Nihal Toros Ntapiapis: “We love life stories”** Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication Advertising Department Dr. Lecturer Nihal Toros Ntapiapis stated that they collaborated with a department outside of communication for the first time this year. Ntapiapis said; “We love life stories. This year, with our project, we conveyed the life stories of people with hearing disabilities. We met with doctors who perform cochlear implant surgeries, we met with lawyers, and we carried out a project on what their legal rights are. Our project currently received a second-place award from TRT, but we are waiting for the results from the Turkey Journalists' Association Aydın Doğan Foundation. It will be announced in March next year.” ## ![](https://cdn.uskudar.edu.tr/uploads/images/2022/11/11/800/img-1419_1.JPG) ## **Dr. Lecturer Didem Şahin Ceylan: “They worked wholeheartedly and made us proud”** Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Audiology Department Head Dr. Lecturer Didem Şahin Ceylan conveyed her thanks to her students. Ceylan said; “Since I started working at Üsküdar University, I have been working on collaborative projects with the Faculty of Communication. I already had a friendship with Nihal Hoca (Instructor Nihal). It was a pleasure to do this project together. Our students worked diligently and made us proud.” ## ![](https://cdn.uskudar.edu.tr/uploads/images/2022/11/11/800/img-1485_1.JPG) ## **Dr. Lecturer Hale Yaylalı: “As a department, we had a very productive period”** Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication Radio, Television and Cinema Dr. Lecturer Hale Yaylalı pointed out that the competition results were a great source of motivation for the students. Yaylalı said; “I believe we had a very productive period as a department after Corona. Last year was a very energetic year, and our students truly achieved great things in digital, audio, and video content production. We were very, very excited when we first made it to the top ten in a competition with hundreds of projects. We are very happy. We believe this will grow like a snowball. It was a great motivation for us and also a truly wonderful motivation for our students. We believe we will increase our successes many times over.” ## **Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esennur Sirer: “Meeting with you was a great motivation for us”** Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication Radio, Television and Cinema Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esennur Sirer made evaluations about the studies and graduation projects. Sirer said; “Meeting with you was a great motivation for us. This year, as in other years, we evaluate graduation projects for a week in both February and June.
