IFIG Symposium in Azerbaijani media

Organized in cooperation with Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication and Baku State University, the 12th International Communication Days / Symposium on "Media and Communication Studies in the Digital Age" had a wide repercussion in the Azerbaijani press. The event was extensively covered in both print and digital news platforms.

The 12th International Communication Days (IFIG), the traditional academic event of Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, will be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, this year. The symposium, which took place between 14-16 May 2025 with the theme of "Media and Communication Studies in the Digital Age", also attracted the attention of the media in Azerbaijan. Many newspapers and news sites broadcasting in the country carried the event in their headlines.

IFIG Symposium is hosted by Baku State University in cooperation with Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication and Baku State University Faculty of Jurnalistics. Within the scope of the event, 285 papers are presented in a total of 51 sessions, 19 of which are face-to-face and 32 of which are online. Speeches at the symposium are made in 3 languages: Turkish, Azerbaijani Turkish and English.

The symposium was also widely covered in the Azerbaijani press. 525, one of the leading newspapers in the country. The newspaper, Baku News, Halk Newspaper and İki Sahil Newspaper published extensive news about the event. In the sessions held within the framework of the main theme of "Media and communication in the digital age", topics such as the effects of digitalization on media production and consumption, social media studies, digital ethics, artificial intelligence, journalism and public relations are discussed.

The interest shown by the Azerbaijani media in the event revealed the development of academic and cultural cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan and once again revealed the international nature of the symposium.
