## Özet

**Stating that we use the pharmacy within our brains, the chemicals, as we motivate ourselves and progress towards our goals, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Founding Rector of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, emphasized the necessity of creating the mixture with the precision of a good chemist and managing psychological resources and capital effectively. Underlining that it is especially important to stay away from toxic people on this journey, Tarhan said; “They poison us and affect the chemicals in our brains.”**

## **“What affects self-perception is self-esteem”**

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Founding Rector of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, emphasizing that what is called luck is actually the point where intelligence and opportunity intersect, said; “The construction of the self begins from birth. With this construction, a lifelong journey emerges. As this journey unfolds, humans are relational beings, not mentally programmed to live alone. How will one establish human relationships during the journey related to the self? We carry a social brain, so we need to establish various relationships well. We will overcome the obstacles ahead; how will we turn those obstacles into opportunities? Toxic individuals will appear before us. This might confuse you a bit, but it will seriously increase your inner motivation. You look at people who have succeeded in life’s journey, who have effectively seized certain opportunities, and you say, ‘What a lucky person!’ What we call luck is actually the point where intelligence and opportunity intersect. That person waits on the sidelines and seizes the opportunity. It emerges at the intersection of intelligence and opportunity. Therefore, self-perception is very important on this journey. What affects self-perception is self-esteem. The ideal self is important for that person. As the other self, one’s ‘self that is me’ is important. The person who can understand the difference between these four embarks on a journey to their own self. A person who can know themselves will eventually know their strengths and weaknesses. Knowing strengths and weaknesses, evaluating offers and opportunities, is important. For all of this to happen, one must first have a goal. When embarking on the journey of life, on the journey to the self, it is important for a person to have an ego ideal and for that ego ideal to become clear. After we form the ideal in our minds, this ideal generally matures during adolescence. Until then, it gradually develops.” he explained.

## **We must use the pharmacy in our brains well…**

Tarhan, stating that we use the pharmacy within our brains, the chemicals, as we motivate ourselves and progress towards our goals, drew attention to the necessity of creating this mixture with the precision of a good chemist and managing psychological resources and capital effectively. Tarhan also underlined the importance of staying away from toxic people on this journey, noting that these individuals poison us and affect the chemicals in our brains.

## **“Not an ecosystem, but an ego system has formed”**

Tarhan, stating that there has never been an era in human history where the ego grew and globalized to such an extent, said; “Today, there is talk of an ecosystem due to climate change, but what has formed here is not an ecosystem, but an ego system. There has been no era in human history where the ego has grown, risen, and globalized to this extent. Previously, leaders were always successful people, but globally, this is now present. There is serious literature on this. The organ that makes us ‘me’ is our brain. The anterior frontal region of our brain, the frontotemporal area, is roughly more than half of our brain. Humans have the largest frontal lobe among living beings. In schizophrenic individuals, the frontal lobe does not function or is not used. A schizophrenic person daydreams a lot, is very happy, causes rain, starts wars. For example, they might be the Mahdi… or a prophet who has come to Earth… They are quite happy and cheerful. When we treat them, they suddenly become depressed. In psychiatric practice, we ask, ‘Did we do good or harm?’ A schizophrenic person does not use the frontal lobe. They use the posterior lobes, living happily in a world of imagination. So, is the purpose of a person’s life individual happiness, or is it to do things for society, to do things for humanity, to leave a mark when they reach the end of life? Is this happiness? One needs to decide this correctly. A healthy person’s brain functions homogeneously throughout.” he added.

## **A manageable narcissistic trait leads to the goal… **

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan pointed out that the capitalist system supports narcissism to accelerate the consumption economy. Tarhan said; “Capitalism first makes you sick, then treats you. Currently, there are antidepressants in street sewers and wastewater in Manhattan. In this respect, Turkey has also become a small America. Everyone is using antidepressants, which is not something to boast about, it shouldn't be happening. People should be able to achieve happiness on their own. Statistics show there is an epidemic of narcissism. The epidemic is rapidly increasing among young people over the years. Therefore, more local measures are being discussed to prevent this new epidemic, which awaits humanity like the Covid epidemic, from becoming a pandemic. When it becomes global during a pandemic, it moves towards becoming an epidemic. If we can protect ourselves here, we might protect ourselves from future dangers. Among individuals with personality disorders, the diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder is increasing over the years. Narcissistic personality disorder is not an illness; it is a personality disorder. Narcissistic traits exist to some extent in all of us, but narcissism is an energy. We use it to guide us to a goal. It is like a wild horse. If we train it well, it will take us to our goal, but if we train it incorrectly, it can make us tumble. A narcissistic person’s self-love is one thing; admiring oneself is another, and having self-esteem with one’s strengths and weaknesses is yet another. For this reason, the capitalist system supports narcissism, competitiveness, rivalry, and a better life, a fast life, and consuming more, to accelerate and increase the consumption economy. This has also begun to affect humanity as a global epidemic.” he stated.

## **There is a higher-dimensional mind above the brain**

Tarhan, stating that the mind is larger than the brain and body, said; “There is a higher-dimensional mind above the brain. There is a holographically structured field. Changes in the mind field instantly pass from neuron to neuroresonance in the brain. The nerve cells in the brain start to vibrate. This is neuroquantology knowledge. Collective psychology also views the human brain like a computer. In the human brain, is it software or hardware? Our brain is hardware, working like electronic circuits. Currently, something called neuroplasticity is changing in the brain. If you accept the information you hear from me, it transforms into a belief as if you pressed the enter key. If you repeat it, it turns into a habit. If you repeat that too, and it lasts for 6 months, this also transforms into a personality. This exists in the brain initially as a neural network. Then it is written as a chemical network. Our brains, when speaking different languages like English, French, or Arabic, utilize distinct networks. This is the model that explains our brain. Therefore, how does self-consciousness form here, how does the concept of self form? The mind is larger than the brain and body. There is an innate primitive energy within us, open to education.” he concluded.

## **3 Important Leadership Qualities in Achieving Dreams: Realism, Activism, and Idealism**

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, emphasizing that when dreaming, one foot should be on the ground and the other in the air, drew attention to the words of Mevlana. Tarhan said; “Dreaming is important as we build ourselves, but as Mevlana said; ‘Let our dreams be like a compass.’ One foot should be on the ground, and one foot in the air. If we can dream in this way, we should not be afraid of that dream. Establishing these three leadership qualities – realism, activism, and idealism – is very important. In fact, our mind, our intellect, our brain which is the physical counterpart, is a quantum receiver resonating in the quantum field. With a holographic brain, we live in a universe, and just as mirror neurons in our brain activate the same region in the other person's brain related to arm lifting when we lift our arm, we also have emotional mirror neurons in our brain. When we feel a strong emotion, we notice that the person in front of us perceives that emotion with strong feelings.” he stated.
