**Üsküdar University Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan met with professional colleagues within the scope of the 'Summit Psychology' event organized by Akansel Education Consultancy. During the online event, Tarhan gave a presentation titled 'The 3 Different Axes of the World: Consciousness-Psychology-Quantum'. Making remarkable evaluations regarding quantum, Tarhan pointed out that the non-mathematized state of science is expressed as philosophy, and the mathematized state of philosophy is expressed as quantum. **

 “Quantum has drawn us into a digital reality”**

Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, emphasized that a revolution occurred in world science in 2022 during the summit, which was held with the intense participation of relevant professionals from fields such as psychology, psychiatry, and PDR. He stated that this revolution has begun to affect our spiritual structure, consciousness, and philosophy of existence. Tarhan said: 'Quantum events make us ask, 'Is the universe a simulation?' Because a simulation universe called the metaverse is forming. Meta, in the sense of a supra-mind universe, means science is now presenting a reality beyond material reality. By bringing together artificial intelligence, science fiction, and digital games, it has pulled us into orbit within a digital reality. Quantum made this happen. In 2022, world science experienced a revolution; theories were confirmed. This revolution has begun to affect our spiritual structure, consciousness, and philosophy of existence.'

## **“Quantum is the mathematized form of philosophy”**

Prof. Dr. Tarhan noted that with Industry 4.0, the speed at which humans access information has increased, emphasizing that the mathematized form of philosophy is called quantum. Tarhan stated: 'In Industry 4.0, new information emerged like missiles. The Industrial Revolution here shows how much human knowledge production has increased. That is, after the 2020s, the speed of information increased like a missile. The speed at which humans access information increased. This led to many things being rewritten and old information being overturned. We call the non-mathematical state of science philosophy. The mathematized state of philosophy, on the other hand, is quantum. The non-mathematized state of science is philosophy. When we say philosophy, we only understand it as abstract thought, conceptual thought, symbolic thought, but this philosophy is currently being mathematized in relation to quantum. We call the mathematized form of philosophy quantum.'

## **“Truth is reached through reasoning after experiment and observation”**

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, discussing how computational neuropsychiatry emerged, stated: 'Theoretical modeling emerged, and the philosophy of existence also began to be questioned again. Here, the questioning of the philosophy of existence actually shows that the universe is a simulation. As a result, the search for rational belief, with faith, began. That is, previously, the paths to truth were experiment and observation. To further develop experiment and observation, truth is reached through reasoning after experiment and observation. If that is not sufficient, it is reached through rational intuition. Like Newton discovering gravity through intuition.'

## **The correct conception of God is the Tawhid belief…**

Tarhan stated that humans need to believe and be consoled: 'When we ask how we meet this need with rational belief, there are 4,300 religions here. Among these religions, the only correct conception of God is the Tawhid belief. The Tawhid belief also becomes a reality in mathematics. Science, the universe, and neuropsychiatry have currently incorporated us into the spiritual. The bio-psycho-socio-spiritual model is a very ambitious idea for explaining the universe, but when it is confirmed with a mathematical reality, when reasoning is confirmed, it becomes a separate topic of discussion.'

## **“The structure that makes the human brain conscious is related to the number of connections”**

Prof. Dr. Tarhan, drawing attention to the working principle of the brain and explaining the connection between consciousness and quantum, said that the brain works with the 'wand model'. Tarhan stated: 'The brain works with the wand model; this is the best model explaining the brain. There are approximately 140 billion neurons, nerve cells. There are 5,000 - 10,000 connections. The structure that makes the human brain conscious, intelligent, and capable of producing concepts, symbols, and thoughts is related to this number of connections, not the number of cells. Here, connections generate action potentials. Chemicals pass from chemical sodium, potassium, and calcium channels to the other side. The electrical potential continues by changing shape, and as a result, for example, mechanical energy, sound energy, comes to our ear. That is, there are throat crystals in the inner ear. Throat crystals convert metallic energy into electrical energy. That energy then transforms the brain into electrical information and transmits it to the decision-making area in the brain.'

## **“Personality designs emerge through the Rorschach test”**

Tarhan, drawing attention to the Rorschach test, stated: 'Through Rorschach test cards, you reveal a person's personality designs. We extract their affective designs, their cognitive designs. As a result of these designs, that person generates an assumption; based on this projective test, we ask, 'Is the person testing reality or not?' The Rorschach test is one of our routine tests in neuropsychological screening in our clinical practice. It works very well for us to understand many differences in psychosis when applied to patients. The rate of understanding the reality test gives an accuracy of around 70 to 80 percent. This is a good rate. It is an effect that reduces and facilitates a doctor's hours of questioning. Apart from that, you look at various motherhood designs, a person's narcissistic tendencies, if they have depressive tendencies, an interpretation is made from the reflections given here regarding these. Not everyone can interpret this Rorschach test. This test has a neuropsychonalytical equivalent. The validated parts of psychoanalysis continue, these parts have become historical. Therefore, this Rorschach test is a test that activates the theory of mind.'

## **“The brain communicates like wireless internet”**

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, also mentioning mirror neurons and motor mirror neurons in his speech, stated: 'When a person looks at someone else, if the other person raises their arm and the first person is watching them, the arm region also activates in their brain. If they are watching, if they are interested, just as there are visuo-motor mirror neurons, these are neurons related to perception. In a person's emotional mirror neuron, if the other party is strongly emotionally engaged with you, you are affected by those emotions. It emerges as the neuroscience of intention. You sense if it was sincere or not. You sense if they feel hatred or love. If the person reflects strong emotions, the other party's mirror neurons move and perceive just as strongly. That is, the brain communicates like wireless internet. We try to draw inferences from the Rorschach test. We make inferences such as emotional, affective, cognitive inferences to try and understand that person. This is one of the verification or falsification realities of psychoanalysis brought to us by neuroscience.'

## **“If our body is a state, our brain is the government”**

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, who also answered participants' questions and emphasized that the brain represents everything, stated: 'If our body is a state, our brain is the government. The brain represents everything. Events, thoughts, perceptions are represented. According to that representation; the stomach, intestines represent organs. For example, the intestines and stomach communicate… There are two places in the body where serotonin is most abundant: the brain and the intestines. Now there are chemical communications between the brain and the intestines. They communicate chemically via the bloodstream. They communicate chemically more than through the nervous system.'

## **“The human brain has a need to eliminate uncertainty”**

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, emphasizing that scientific minds have moved beyond materialism, pointed out the existence of something beyond materialism. Tarhan stated: 'Materialism does not explain the existence of the universe. Currently, the deterministic perspective brought by materialism does not explain it, so a new perspective is needed. Currently, the evolution of the universe, the evolution of civilization, is even more important than the transition from geocentrism, which was vitally important, to heliocentrism. The sun used to revolve around the earth, but with the transition to heliocentrism, the earth began to revolve around the sun. In one instance, people sacralized the earth, in another, they sacralized the sun… In another, they worshipped nature, worshipped the sun… Because the human brain, unlike other living beings, has a need to conceptualize, make sense, and eliminate uncertainty.'

## **“Our brain is a quantum agent resonating in a field of mind…”**

Tarhan, stating that the mind field is connected to different fields, said: 'Quantum mechanics actually shows us that what we call the mind is like a program in a computer. The moment you delete a program from a computer, not a gram is removed from the computer, but the moment you delete both the system files, the added programs, and the operating system within it, the computer merely turns into a material heap. There is also a program in the human brain that circulates. Thus, the situation arises to make definitions for this program such as a mind program or a soul program. Our brain is a quantum agent resonating in a field called mind. The mind field is connected to many other fields. This can be explained by a transpersonal unified experience, which we could not explain through mainstream science before. It can give clues about spirituality.'

## **“The greatest feature of our brain is that it is an organ of perception”**

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, stating that the subconscious is actually implicit memory, said: 'Freud actually discovered an area called the subconscious. This is actually implicit memory. Traumas are written there. Since the frontal lobe is the captain's bridge that makes decisions, the left brain is more of a rational, masculine brain, while the right brain is more of an emotional, sentimental brain and produces meaning. To the information coming from there, the prefrontal brain merely makes decisions like: 'Appropriate-not appropriate, valid-not valid, safe-not safe.' For example, in OCD, it repeats the same thing over and over because it cannot make this decision. The decision-making mechanism is disrupted. In paranoia, when the brain perceives, it misinterprets those perceptions. The greatest feature of our brain is that it is an organ of perception. The information coming from outside through the five senses – senses are no longer just five, they have exceeded thirty. There are chemical senses, for example, it loses insulin. There are magnetic senses; the brain records information coming through electronic, mirror neurons. It records oscillations and vibrations. As a result of all these, the brain collects all the information and makes a decision.'
