Tarhan stated that the scenario of life lived in the past is “values”; “Values constitute our episodic memory. Our dreams are in our perceptive memory related to the future. Episodic memory and perceptive memory are synthesized. We need to receive value-oriented education and utilize our past life memory. It is beneficial to see some realities. There are many innovations, but while there is a lot of everything, there is also little. We are witnessing changes in a changing world. It is necessary not to miss the digital revolution. When talking about digital transformation, it is not correct to say, 'they do it, we use it.' The Fatih project was realized and tablets were distributed, but instead, software developers should have been trained. These views were not taken seriously at that time. Those distributed tablets are not innovation, but popularity. We need to change and overcome these views. We need to be the subject, not the object, of science.” he said. ## “**We need education faculties”** Referring to the importance of social and emotional skills in 21st-century education, Tarhan said; “Our Minister of National Education wants to work on this issue. Social and emotional skills are the cornerstone of this work. Faculties of education should also carry out studies like the faculties of health. The contributions of health faculties to the field of health are very significant. Likewise, why shouldn't faculties of education do this too? Especially in state universities, such an idea needs to be put into practice. New truths should be established, and all foundations of the new education system should be laid constructively and with truths. Brain-based learning is also learning by experience. This is also lacking in our country, and studies should be done on this. Education is not possible without experience in the classroom. The basis of ideal learning and brain-based learning is learning by experience. For all these, we need faculties of education in the field of education.” he said. ## “**Values are a scientific category”** Tarhan stated that individuals should be taught information with new critical thoughts; “We can see the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship at this point. We need everything that is new. The world is undergoing rapid change, and it is not easy to keep up. New concepts have been added to psychology. We used to talk about emotion, thought, and behavior. But now, values also hold separate importance. The life scenario we lived in the past consists of values. Values constitute our episodic memory. Our dreams are also located in our perceptive memory regarding the future. Episodic memory and perceptive memory are synthesized. We need to receive value-oriented education and benefit from our past life memory. When all these are encompassed, values enter a scientific category.” he stated. ## **“An egocentric generation is coming”** Tarhan added that students must learn new skills in education; “I can see that young people are intelligent, but they are lazy. We want to see visionary and innovative young people. We emphasize that they should give importance to project culture lessons, especially within teamwork. There is selfishness in the young generation, which is the biggest danger. There is a liberal, selfish, and ambitious youth. A young generation that works for themselves and thinks only of themselves is growing up. Humans are social beings, relational beings. There should be individuals living in society. These truths must be taught with scientific rigor. These truths are taught with the wrong strategy in Turkey; they should be taught under the name of science, not religion. If such a generation is raised, good doctors and good physiotherapists will also be raised, thus contributing to society. If a correctly raised generation exists, individuals who can achieve anything will emerge. It is not right to confront young people and exclude them. They should dream, set new goals, and develop themselves.
