In the online program, Tarhan said; &ldquo;The fact that our current education system, our philosophy, our doctrine does not change means that just as we missed this era, we will miss the next era. Therefore, in our education system, we need to provide new answers to old questions, suitable for a changing world.&rdquo;

Tarhan made evaluations on the concept of freedom; “In our society, the women's liberation movement globally began in the 1960s. It was a rightful movement and necessary. It was defined as feminism, but currently, this movement has gone off track. How did it go off track? Our culture is unfortunately a continuation of patriarchal culture. In patriarchal culture, violence is used to discipline women. In our culture, there is a saying, 'He who does not beat his daughter, beats his knee.' However, there is no such thing; this is not in the ethics of the prophet. For example, Prophet Muhammad did not even raise his voice against his daughter Hz Fatıma, let alone beat her. There is no such thing against his wife. Let's not adopt the unhealthy aspects of the West. There will be freedom, but this freedom is not irresponsibility... There will be respect for others' freedom, one's own freedom, and a rule-bound environment. Home, family, will be a rule-bound environment. What does a rule-bound environment mean? There is a boundary between my freedom and your freedom. What civilizes a person is not being free. What civilizes a person is knowing their boundaries. Just as there are boundary violations in buildings, and you cannot break your neighbor's wall to expand, there should be no boundary violations in personal limits. Therefore, family, home, school, and life are all rule-bound environments. Because humans are relational beings, social beings. For this reason, we develop a culture suitable for the social structure. This is not genetic; it is learned later. We only have genes for this predisposition. We are learning these things.” he said.

## **&ldquo;We need to give new answers to old questions&rdquo;**

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, speaking about the effects of the changing world on our education, said; “The fact that our current education system, our educational philosophy, our educational doctrine does not change means that just as we missed this era, we will miss the next era. This is a very ambitious statement. But unfortunately, this is the case. Therefore, in our education system, we need to provide new answers to old questions, suitable for a changing world. The questions are old. 'How can I better educate my child?', 'What can I do for my child to be successful in life?', 'How do I prepare for the future?' These are old, classic, standard questions. But we will give new answers to these. When we continue with old answers, we find ourselves in a backward education system.”

## **&ldquo;We will build our own digital platform&rdquo; **

Tarhan emphasized the need to pave the way for software development for young people; “Covid made digital transformation mandatory. We were missing out on digital transformation. The reason for this was that we were only imitating digital transformation. For example, ten years ago, we went and distributed tablets. However, we need to train software developers. That's why humanity was told 'train software developers' instead of distributing and acquiring tablets. Currently, we need to teach software development and design as a course not only in project schools but in all schools. Software development is a second foreign language. The first language is your mother tongue. The second foreign language, of course, will be English, Arabic, whatever it is, and the third foreign language is software. The new generation will now create and learn software as a foreign language. Software is not difficult at all; it's a separate language. Once you know it, rest assured that when our supercomputers meet with super young people, super humans will emerge. Therefore, let's not see this period as a lost one. Let's pave the way for software development for our young people. Currently, there are design workshops in schools. We now need to expand this to all schools. Software languages are being learned. There are various languages; we will teach them. We will build our own digital platform. We will now free ourselves from the monopoly of global powers, global capital. We are condemned and obliged to do so, otherwise, we will be exploited.” he stated.

## **&ldquo;Imam Hatip has been a chance for Turkey&rdquo;**

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that Imam Hatip schools combine the beauty of science with the beauty of religious sciences; “Revisions are certainly needed in Imam Hatip education regarding this issue. But they are not unaffected by the global pandemic either. They are affected, but I think they are lucky because they are Imam Hatip schools. They learn the truths of the future from there. I believe that high schools should currently be educational institutions where religious sciences and natural sciences are taught together, similar to Imam Hatip schools. A person may not necessarily learn tafsir, hadith, or fiqh, but I think that learning scholarly knowledge (ilm) and kalam should descend to the high school level. For this reason, Imam Hatip schools have been a chance for Turkey. In fact, we have produced our own intermediate culture, our intermediate solution. I am saying this with scientific reasons. No one should interpret this as mere partisanship, ideological partisanship, or political partisanship. I am not involved in any political activity; I have no plan, no goal, no expectation. But these schools combine these two beauties. Imam Hatip schools combine the beauty of science with the beauty of religious sciences.”
