I hope we spend Eid al-Adha in a way that aligns with its meaning and beauty. Holidays become much more meaningful, especially if they build bridges between hearts. The word 'Kurban' (sacrifice) in Arabic means 'kurbiyet', which is to approach. Therefore, sacrificing has great significance in one's journey to approach the truth, the creator. If a person wants to approach the truth, they should donate and share. This behavior serves 'kurbiyet', or approaching, in the most beautiful way. In our belief system, holidays also serve as an opportunity to build bridges between hearts. Another important point is that holidays remind us of goodness and sharing. Most importantly, there is the famous saying 'old holidays'. In fact, we all say that phrase under the influence of our own childhood. That is, what makes holidays special are our childhood memories. People remember their childhood during holidays. These are the days when the most beautiful memories of our lives accumulate, which is why they are missed. When we say 'old holidays', what we mean is the emotional impact of our childhood memories. Therefore, children should be the ones made happiest this holiday. It is not necessary to buy expensive gifts for children; the best gift to give them is time spent with them. The more time we allocate to our loved ones and close ones, the more time we spend with them, the more we will have a holiday in accordance with the spirit of the holiday. This also brings us one step closer to the truth.
