Tarhan said, "While Mevlana served among the scholars, Yunus Emre reached out to the common people, bringing the same wisdom to them. To be with God while remaining within society and among the people is the greatest jihad of this era." The world is a sea, humanity is a ship Tarhan summarized Mevlana and Yunus's view on worldly possessions with this striking metaphor: "Love of the world is like a sea, and human is a ship sailing within it. Swim in that sea as you wish, but if you let that water (worldly love) into the ship, you will sink.
