Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS) organized an event titled “The Pharmaceutical Market in Türkiye” as part of the Medical Promotion and Marketing program. Guest speakers included Banu Şirin, Human Resources Manager at TK İlaç, and Şebnem Dede, Assistant HR Specialist at TK İlaç. The event provided students with insights into the role of medical sales representatives.

The event was held at Üsküdar University’s Çarşı Campus and was moderated by Dr. Damla Yılmazoğlu, Head of the Medical Promotion and Marketing Program at VSHS.

Attracting significant interest, the event featured presentations from both Banu Şirin and Şebnem Dede.

They introduced TK İlaç, its product portfolio, and its social responsibility projects.

Banu Şirin: “A profession that enriches you in incredible ways”

Banu Şirin gave an informative talk on the responsibilities and expectations of medical sales representatives, offering practical insights into the role.

Emphasizing the career potential of the profession, Şirin stated that “Being a medical sales representative is a very challenging job. It may look easy from the outside, but in reality, it is a demanding role, yet one that develops you tremendously. You need to have full command of the product. If you know the product, you can convey it. If you do not, you simply cannot. The primary goal of a medical sales representative is to have the product prescribed by the physician. That’s essentially our main objective.”

During the event, Şebnem Dede, Assistant HR Specialist at TK İlaç, also gave a presentation.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, followed by the presentation of certificates of appreciation and a group photo.
