Üsküdar University has added a new milestone to its international academic collaborations. Hosted by the Department of International Relations Erasmus+ Coordination Office, a delegation from Wonkwang University, which is one of South Korea’s well-established higher education institutions, visited Üsküdar University. Within the scope of the visit, a cooperation protocol was signed between the two universities, taking significant steps toward student and academic staff exchange programs as well as joint research projects. The protocol is also of great importance in terms of strengthening academic and cultural ties.

The visit, held at the Üsküdar University Main Campus Senate Hall, was attended by Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör, the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordination team, and the delegation from Wonkwang University.

During the visit, an important step was taken to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between the two universities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör said: “Within the framework of our university’s internationalization vision, we continue to develop strong collaborations with universities worldwide. The protocol we signed with Wonkwang University will provide new opportunities for our students and academics. Through exchange programs and joint research projects, we aim to strengthen the ties between the two universities and achieve more effective academic cooperation on a global scale.”

At the ceremony, a cooperation protocol was signed between Üsküdar University and Wonkwang University. Discussions were held on future joint projects, student and staff exchange programs, joint research studies, and Erasmus+ mobilities.

In addition, a presentation on Üsküdar University was delivered, sharing detailed information about the institution.

Visit to Üsküdar University Dental Hospital

Later, the delegation visited Üsküdar University Dental Hospital. The guests toured the modern diagnostic and treatment units equipped with advanced technology, as well as the simulation and research laboratories. They were introduced to the hospital’s integrated structure of education and healthcare services. Emphasis was placed on the hospital’s contributions to students’ professional development, where theoretical and practical training are carried out simultaneously.

Visit to Prof. Ziver Ergün Yücel

As part of the program, the South Korean delegation also visited the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Ziver Ergün Yücel, in his office. Prof. Yücel provided information about the faculty and shared details regarding the students’ practical training processes. The delegation members asked questions about topics of interest, exchanged information, and expressed their satisfaction with the visit.

The visit marks an important beginning in strengthening the academic and cultural bridges between the two institutions.
