Academic cooperation between Üsküdar University and Georgia State University

In line with its vision of internationalization, Üsküdar University has signed a significant academic cooperation agreement with Georgia State University (GSU), one of the most prestigious universities in the United States. The protocol outlines a broad framework for collaboration, including student and faculty exchange programs, dual degree opportunities, joint research initiatives, and international academic projects.

Located in Atlanta, Georgia, Georgia State University (GSU) is recognized as one of the top universities in the U.S., with seven campuses, over 50,000 students, and R1-level research capacity. Ranked first among U.S. public universities in undergraduate education, GSU is also listed as the fifth fastest-growing research university in the country.

A cooperation protocol was signed between GSU-Üsküdar University

As part of the collaboration, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, President of Üsküdar University, Prof. Türker Tekin Ergüzel, Vice Rector, and Dr. Serdar Aydın, Director of the Academy for Health Management Studies at Georgia State University, came together for a meeting.

Following the discussions, a collaboration protocol was signed between the two universities, laying the groundwork for future academic and scientific cooperation.

New opportunities for students and academics

Within the scope of cooperation;

• Face-to-face and virtual student exchange programs,

• Academic staff and student collaborations,

• Joint research projects and scientific publications,

• Sharing academic experience,

• Cross-border capacity building initiatives are targeted.

Dual degree opportunity between the two universities…

A dual degree program is also on the agenda. Under this program, students will complete their first two years of study at Üsküdar University and the final two years at Georgia State University (GSU), earning diplomas from both institutions. This will allow students to benefit from both the Turkish and American education systems.

Members of Üsküdar University will also have the opportunity to study, teach, and engage in joint academic projects within GSU. This strategic partnership aims not only to foster individual academic success but also to strengthen institutional collaboration between the two universities.

This cooperation is expected to make a strong contribution to the internationalization efforts of both institutions and is regarded as a significant step toward global engagement and joint innovation.
