Communication Faculty alumni gathered at Üsküdar University

Üsküdar University’s Faculty of Communication, in collaboration with the Career Center Department, organized an alumni meeting event. The gathering brought together graduates from the departments of Visual Communication Design and Cartoon and Animation. The event emphasized the importance of communication, the strengthening of the sense of belonging, and the contribution of solidarity among alumni to sectoral development. Feedback was also collected from graduates regarding the university’s educational quality, course content, and public image.

Held at Üsküdar University’s South Campus Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall, the event was attended by Head of the Department of Visual Communication Design Prof. And Algül; Head of the Department of Cartoon and Animation Assoc. Prof. Cem Tutar; Instructor Özgül Öztürk; Instructor Özge Kaya; Assoc. Prof. Dicle Yıldırım; Asst. Prof. Nuray Ergindir Küçükkaya; Asst. Prof. Ebru Karadoğan; Research Assistant Hüsna Tosun; Research Assistant Baran Kahraman; and faculty students.

Prof. And Algül: “It is very important that you maintain your connection with one another”

Speaking at the program, Prof. And Algül, Head of the Department of Visual Communication Design, stated that alumni feedback is highly valuable. Algül said, “This is your home, welcome back. The reason we gathered here today is to evaluate what we can do for you together. Receiving feedback from you is very meaningful to us because our goal is to find the best ways to support you. We know that sometimes even a small idea can turn into a very valuable project through proper brainstorming. We want to stay in constant communication with you. At the same time, it is very important that you maintain your connection with one another. Sustaining this communication can actually open new doors for you as well.”

Assoc. Prof. Cem Tutar: “Identifying yourself as a graduate of Üsküdar University reflects a deep sense of belonging”

Within the scope of the event, Assoc. Prof. Cem Tutar, Head of the Department of Cartoon and Animation, said, “It truly makes me very happy to see familiar faces here today. The fact that you cared enough to come here means a great deal to us. Although Üsküdar University is a young institution, it is determined to establish its own school of thought and alumni profile. In this regard, the connections built with you are very important, because being able to say ‘I am an Üsküdar University graduate’ reflects a strong sense of belonging. We want to strengthen this identity both institutionally and individually. By acting together and drawing strength from one another, we can increase our public visibility and reach wider audiences with our work. What really matters is being part of this flow and belonging to this powerful network.”

Remziye Çopur: “We aim to support you in different fields”

Career Center Director Remziye Çopur emphasized the importance of experience, stating, “You have successfully completed your four-year undergraduate education and earned your diploma. We wholeheartedly congratulate you on this great achievement. As our alumni, you are very precious to us. We stay in contact with you periodically to update your professional and educational status, and in this way, we aim to support you in different fields. We also want to strengthen our bond with you. Of course, we share many cherished memories and moments of pride together, but life gains meaning not only through success but also through experience, and sometimes through sentences that begin with the word ‘if only.’ That is why gathering here today to share our experiences and thoughts is very valuable to us.”

During the program, constructive feedback was received from alumni regarding educational quality, course content, and the university’s overall image.
