Hair care and beauty services program attracted great interest in its first year

The Hair Care and Beauty Services Program, launched in the 2024–2025 academic year under the Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS) at Üsküdar University, received significant attention in its very first year. According to the results of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), the program quickly filled all its quotas, and it also stood out with the large number of transfer applications received from students at other universities.

The Hair Care and Beauty Services Program, which started within Üsküdar University’s Vocational School of Health Services in the 2024–2025 academic year, was met with great demand right from the beginning.

Instructor Birgül Erbaş: “The strong interest we received in our first year made us very happy”

Instructor Birgül Erbaş, Head of the Hair Care and Beauty Services Program at Üsküdar University VSHS, who made important contributions to the establishment of the program’s infrastructure, shared her feelings about this success as follows: “Our biggest goal when establishing this program was not only to provide our students with professional skills but also to instill in them confidence and vision. The strong interest we received in our first year and the fact that our quotas were filled made us extremely happy. Together with our students, we have become a strong family, and we will achieve even greater success on this journey together.”

Highlighting the opportunities offered by the program, Erbaş said: “It is a great honor for us to accompany our students on their path to success through the practical training we provide and our strong collaborations with the sector. Hair Care and Beauty Services is not only about aesthetics but is also deeply connected with psychology, sociology, and health. Our program aims to bring these disciplines together and offer students a different perspective.”

Qualified Professionals of the Sector Are Being Trained at Üsküdar

Üsküdar University demonstrated that the program made a difference in its very first year with laboratory practices, industry-supported seminars, and an innovative educational model offered to students.
