The second event of the ÇVKxTALKS series, organized by the Conscience of the Era Club (Çağın Vicdanı Kulübü) operating under the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports (HCS) at Üsküdar University, was successfully held. Hosted under the title “Youth Is Lived Only Once,” the event welcomed Harun Serkan Aktaş, President of the Maksat 114 Association and an author, as the guest speaker. During the event, Aktaş shared reflections on the purpose of human existence, the spiritual significance of the three sacred months, and the tests of life. Describing the three months as a spiritual fair, he emphasized that this period offers an opportunity for inner reflection and purification.

Held at the Emirnebi Conference Hall on Üsküdar University’s Çarşı Campus, the program began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by student Muhammed Ali Sılgan.

“This world is a military guesthouse”

Addressing humanity’s place in the world not merely as temporary guests but as beings with responsibility, Aktaş stated: “This world is a military guesthouse, and human beings are soldiers within it. They live under command. Destiny tests individuals on stones of trial and evaluates them through these tests.”

“The ego is like a yellow python”

Enriching his talk with metaphors and stories, Aktaş likened the ego to a dangerous predator: “The ego is like a yellow python. It wraps around you, loosens its grip, then tightens again. It measures your weakest moment before swallowing you. The ego may appear charming, but it waits patiently for the chance to destroy you.”

“The three sacred months are a time for decisions and purification”

Highlighting the spiritual dimension of the three sacred months, Aktaş said: “A spiritual fair has been set up; a metaphysical marketplace has opened. This is a time to pause from worldly trade. The three months are a period for decision-making and purification. The nights of Regaip, Miraj, Berat, and Qadr surround us in a deeply meaningful order.”

Aktaş further explained the spiritual journey of these months, describing how this period invites individuals toward inner elevation. He emphasized the significance of the Miraj, Berat, and Qadr nights and underlined the importance of the heart reconnecting with the Qur’an.

Book signing session

Following the talk, Harun Serkan Aktaş met with readers during a book-signing session, engaging in conversations and signing copies of his works.

The event, which attracted strong interest from students, concluded with a gift presentation to Aktaş.
