Prof. Mehmet Savsar: “We can contribute with quality-focused initiatives”
Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering Prof. Mehmet Savsar expressed his satisfaction with the participation in the first-ever breakfast event and discussed academic changes implemented since 2020. Savsar said, “We made necessary changes to the curriculum to ensure our students go through a higher quality education process and expanded our pool of elective courses. We have taken significant steps in the accreditation process, which we have been preparing for over a year. This has been an important step for both our university and our alumni. During this period, we also established an external stakeholders committee and received necessary support from our alumni. Similarly, we receive feedback from our alumni on how we can further improve quality. The graduate surveys we conduct are steps that support senior projects, and in order to benefit from their experience, our alumni may also be invited in the future. Such mentoring efforts can contribute to the development of our current students. We, in turn, can support our alumni in their research and projects. We can coordinate with the companies where they work and contribute through quality-focused initiatives.”
