This year, Üsküdar University will monitor the process in real time for the first time. This way, candidates’ experiences can be tracked instantly.

The orientation program, which was attended by administrative and academic staff, brought together the academics of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences, Vocational School of Health Services, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, and the Foreign Languages Coordination Office. Özgür Akoğlan, Manager of Educational Institutions and Guidance Services, and Specialist Psychological Counselor Ece Tözeniş provided information regarding the preference process, which begins with the announcement of exam scores.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: “A university is a place to produce ideas freely.”

President of Üsküdar University and Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan emphasized the indecisiveness young people experience during the preference period, underlining that a university should be an institution that offers hope during this process. Prof. Tarhan said, “The concepts on our logo are not accidental; being open to criticism, pluralism, participation, and liberalism are our mottos. We want students to be able to express themselves freely here. The tendency of young people to study abroad is increasing. This is related to the sense of freedom and security in Türkiye. At this university, we provide an environment where young people can feel comfortable. We want them to feel a sense of belonging and trust. A university is a place to produce ideas freely.”

Prof. Nazife Güngör: “A heartfelt welcome is very important.”

Rector of Üsküdar University, Prof. Nazife Güngör, stated that this year’s preference process has been more challenging due to a decrease in the number of candidates and an increase in program diversity. Emphasizing the importance of an effective and sincere preference process, Prof. Güngör said, “Our biggest advantage is our warm and sincere approach. When students visiting the campus receive one-on-one attention, they tend to choose Üsküdar. We often hear from candidates saying, ‘No one cared at other universities, but here we felt the interest.’ That is why a heartfelt welcome is very important.”

Prof. Türker Tekin Ergüzel: “Powerful analysis will be possible with real-time data.”

Providing information about the new system integrated into the preference process, Vice Rector of Üsküdar University Prof. Türker Tekin Ergüzel stated that real-time data has been achieved for the first time this year and said, “It is now possible to instantly track the experiences of candidates. This data will provide us with powerful analysis and planning opportunities. With real-time data, strong analysis will be possible.”

Specialist Psychological Counselor Özgür Akoğlan: “Most candidates were goal-oriented and conscious.”

Özgür Akoğlan, Manager of Educational Institutions and Guidance Services, noted that the preference process being initiated by ÖSYM over the weekend was a surprise, but all preparations had already been completed. Akoğlan said, “Our entire team was ready. Most of the candidates were goal-oriented and conscious. We met many candidates who specifically wanted Üsküdar University, and this made us very happy.”

Specialist Psychological Counselor Ece Tözeniş: “Instant tracking is possible with the QR code system.”

Providing information about the digital system integrated into the preference process, Specialist Psychological Counselor Ece Tözeniş stated that the newly developed three-tier system enables data flow at the candidate, student guide, and advisor levels. Tözeniş said, “Now we can monitor all activities across campuses in real time, not just at the end of the day. Instant tracking is possible with the QR code system. Information such as which student met with which guide and how long they stayed can be monitored through the system. This makes both coordination and evaluation easier.”
