The Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Perfusion continues to host international training activities with its advanced technological infrastructure and highly qualified academic staff. Three anesthesiology and intensive care specialist physicians from Jordan participated in a two-day ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) simulation training held at the Üsküdar University Perfusion Laboratory, aiming to gain hands-on clinical experience in ECMO practices. During the training, life-saving clinical scenarios were experienced through high-fidelity simulation.

The physicians from Jordan, who were in Türkiye as part of their clinical visit to Aydın Adnan Menderes University, took part in the ECMO simulation training program organized at Üsküdar University’s Perfusion Laboratory.

Vice Rector Prof. Hikmet Koçak visited

As part of the training program, the visiting delegation paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Hikmet Koçak, Vice Rector of Üsküdar University and Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Ali Kocailik, Head of the Department of Perfusion at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Discussions focused on ECMO practices, the importance of simulation-based training, and opportunities for international academic collaboration.

Life-saving scenarios experienced through simulation

Within the scope of the program, participants had the opportunity to practice critical and life-threatening clinical situations that are rarely encountered in routine clinical settings, along with appropriate intervention strategies, in a controlled simulation environment.

It was emphasized that simulation-based training is one of the most effective methods for gaining experience in the field of healthcare.

Advanced simulation infrastructure

The Üsküdar University Department of Perfusion stands out not only for possessing one of the most advanced simulator infrastructures used in ECMO training, but also for its experienced academic team capable of integrating this technology with a wide range of clinical scenarios.

International contribution to healthcare education

With these capabilities, Üsküdar University contributes not only to healthcare education in Türkiye but also to that of neighboring countries.

This training program once again demonstrated Üsküdar University’s growing international visibility in the field of health sciences and reinforced the strong position of its Department of Perfusion at the international level.
