Many experts in their fields came together at the congress held at the Cyprus Concorde Luxury Hotel.

"Neuroscience-Based Psychotherapies" presentation attracted attention

Speaking at the panel titled "Interesting Topics in Psychiatry", President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Tarhan made a presentation on "Neuroscience-Based Psychotherapies". Stating that artificial intelligence-supported "AI Powered" treatment methods in neuropsychiatric diseases are promising, Tarhan drew attention to the functional connectivity networks of the brain.

Tarhan, who gave information on sensory-motor networks and cognitive networks; "Sensory-motor networks; It covers the visual network, the auditory network and the somatomotor networks. Cognitive networks are the default state network, the attention-grabbing network, the executive control network, the dorsal attention network, and the ventral attention network."

Tarhan talked about the brain's process of forming memories...

Talking about the brain's memory-making process, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan said that "When a neuron receives a strong enough stimulus, it sends an electrical signal to one of the neighboring neurons. A temporary bond is formed between these two cells. With repeated signals, the bond is strengthened and a network is formed. This network corresponds to a single memory."

The Relationship Between CBT and Depression

Prof. Tarhan also touched upon the relationship between Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and depression. Tarhan stated that "Amygdala-hippocampal activity has been found to be associated with depression, while dorsal anterior cingulate activity has been found to be an indicator of the positive treatment outcome after CBT. This activity can be used to predict the level of benefit that individuals can benefit from CBT."

He also stated that interpersonal psychotherapy is based on Sullivan's theory and aims to improve interpersonal relationships in the treatment of depression. Touching on neurobiofeedback, Tarhan presented information on Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta waves.

Current psychiatry developments were discussed at the congress

The Interactive Psychiatry Education Congress was organized to share current developments in the field of psychiatry, to increase the exchange of information among experts and to bring innovative perspectives to clinical practices. The congress was of great importance in terms of encouraging multidisciplinary approaches.

Various methods of therapy were discussed

Within the scope of the event, therapy methods such as "Psychoanalytically Oriented Psychotherapy", "Schema Therapy", "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy" and "Metacognitive Therapy" were also discussed in detail.

The era of digital medicine (DTx) in health begins...

Drawing attention to the effectiveness and widespread use of Digital Therapeutics (DTx), a new generation treatment method that uses digital technologies to manage the health status of patients and improve their treatment processes, Prof. Tarhan said that DTx, which coincides with the principles of personalized medicine, generally provides personalized monitoring, education, treatment and rehabilitation services through mobile applications, virtual platforms or wearable devices, providing genetic, biomarker and lifestyle data of patients. He stated that he offers customized treatment plans taking into account.

Explaining that in this way, more accurate and faster data about the diseases of individuals are obtained, treatment processes are optimized in accordance with the person and health outcomes are improved, Prof. Tarhan shared that this field has an important potential in many areas such as the management of chronic diseases, mental health disorders and postoperative recovery.
