Professional Practice and Career Path in Electroneurophysiology was discussed
The “Electroneurophysiology Career Talks” event was organized through the collaboration of Üsküdar University’s Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS) Electroneurophysiology Program and the Electroneurophysiology Club, operating under the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports (HCS).

The event emphasized that electroneurophysiology technicianship is a field requiring serious clinical responsibility, and that correct practice is critically important for patient health.
Held at the Emirnebi Conference Hall of Üsküdar University’s Çarşı Campus, the program was moderated by Instructor Recep Yılmaz, Head of the VSHS Electroneurophysiology Program.
The guest speaker was Instructor Emre Erdoğan, Deputy Director of Erciyes University Halil Bayraktar Vocational School of Health Services and Head of the Electroneurophysiology Program.
During the event, professional practices in electroneurophysiology and career development processes were discussed, offering students valuable insights into practical applications, employment areas, and post-graduation career opportunities.

Clinical Responsibility of Technicians Highlighted
In his speech, Instructor Emre Erdoğan emphasized that electroneurophysiology technicianship goes far beyond merely operating devices and is a healthcare profession that directly affects patient outcomes. “We are not electricians; we are healthcare professionals,” Erdoğan stated, underscoring the clinical responsibility carried by technicians.

“Incorrect electrode placement can lead to incorrect treatment”
Referring to procedures such as EEG, EMG, and polysomnography, Erdoğan highlighted the necessity of precision and attentiveness, warning that incorrect applications could negatively affect diagnosis and treatment processes. “Incorrect electrode placement may cause a patient to receive incorrect treatment,” he said, stressing that practical competence and professional proficiency are fundamental elements of the field.
The event also addressed employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors, areas of practice, and professional development pathways for electroneurophysiology technicians. It was emphasized that technicians who continuously improve themselves hold a significant position within the healthcare system. The information shared also guided students in shaping their post-graduation career plans.

Instructor Emre Erdoğan answered these questions, sharing his experiences related to career planning and professional growth.

At the end of the program, various gifts were distributed to students through a raffle.
